The Courtyard @ Westerham Hall

Community Meals, Delivered. The last week of delivered meals from our happy band has taken place. Since we began, we have consumed:

745kg. Red Potatoes (almost all of them peeled by Tania!!); 127.5kg. Carrots; 170kg. Red Onions; 170kg. Broccoli ; 250 Cauliflowers; 1100 Chicken Breasts
263.75kg. Beef (joints, minced, diced); 289.75kg. Lamb (joints, minced, diced); 420 Cod Fillets; 401 Salmon Steaks; 161 Sea Bass Fillets; 175 Smoked Haddock Fillets

 

 

 
Everything has been done voluntarily and meals are priced to cover the ingredients cost. A big shout out and thank-you to everyone, especially the dedicated volunteers, for all your support so far!

The Courtyard team, lead by Tania and Ian, present and past, in the kitchen and the office: Katie Ellis, Lauren Martin, Tracy Begent and Ollie Martin. And now Lauren, our admin saint, has much welcome help (and conversation!) from young Imogen Bridges.

To our fantastic drivers – all 26 of them! – who always manage to show at their allotted time slot with a smile and a warm hello. Happy to take however many meals to wherever they have to go.

To Deborah Coen who has coordinated and delivered meals from day one to all those in Crockham Hill signed up to the project.

To all those who generously donated to our GoFundMe page. As a result of your generous support, we were able to accept referrals via the Food Bank, or the School Welfare Officer, to deliver FREE meals. With special mention to Jason Shillito who fantastically raised over £2,200 by having his head shaved! Well done that man!!

To Carl of Flint and Oak at Squerryes and indeed Squerryes Estate themselves for their very generous weekly donation… thank you Henry!

To Richard of Larratt’s for his many donations of meat, fruit and veg and for supplying plenty of ‘bits and pieces’ at the last minute.

To New Farm Meats for supplying top quality produce right to our kitchen.

To Patrick, the manager of ‘The George and Dragon’ for the loan of a desperately needed fridge and the promise of more if desired.

To Anne and Neale of ‘The Grasshopper on the Green’ for various pots, pans and other pieces of kitchen equipment.

To Wolfe Garage for their fabulous gift of fuel vouchers to ALL the volunteers.

To Jamie and Zoe Cook of Fayre Do’s for the vital loan of a number of Thermo Boxes and their constant offers of help.

To local schools, the Food Bank and those many individuals who have given us dry goods, vegetables, fruit and gloves and masks.

To Louis Hollingsbee who took such brilliant photos of the production team at work – some of those to follow.

To Jane Hunter, for her ready and welcome suggestions, her poster and menu designs, her social media skills (although she will deny she has any!) and her unfailing support.

And most importantly to the team of Westerham Hall. They have willingly handed over all their superb facilities to us for the duration of this project. As part of their team – Richard Woolnough for organising the volunteer drivers on delivery days;  Shonagh Speirs for all her help, patience, clearing up after us and putting up with our presence whilst she tries to keep the building in good order.

And especially to the Chairman of the Trustees of Westerham Hall, Mark Mountjoy. He has coordinated, cajoled, encouraged and supported us in every step of this process. And for that and much more we owe him a great deal.
