Our doors are open 7 days a week to everyone from community groups and local organisations to commercial enterprises and private individuals: conveniently sited, we are two minutes walk away from St Mary’s Church. Whether you’re simply looking for a warm, comfortable room for a meeting, somewhere for your child’s party (that’s big enough to have a bouncy castle inside); the ideal setting to entertain 150 people with a four course meal, with license, live band and dancing or any point in between, we can happily accommodate you.

John Fryth Room
A Church hall attached on to St Mary the Virgin Church in the centre of Town, and used largely for quiet gatherings, some regular, by arrangement. Available on Saturdays for Under 10s children’s parties. Caters for about 40 people, with small kitchen, tables and chairs, but no licence. Parking available in Darent Car park or on The Green.

The Royal British Legion, Mill Lane
We have a large comfortable Function Room with tables, chairs and a Bar, suitable for about 50 people and upwards. A kitchen is available for your or caterers’ use, but we don’t provide food. If the weather’s nice, a very pleasant garden can also be used. We don’t have a fixed price but a donation is invited. Our Members cannot be disbarred from this facility, so if it’s total privacy you’d like, then this is not suitable.

The King’s Arms Hotel

The Grasshopper On The Green
This centuries-old pub welcomes locals, tourists and walkers alike. We cater for birthdays, weddings and other occasions. Our restaurant upstairs comfortably seats approximately 50 people for a more formal sit down gathering and significantly more bodies if a more casual party with a buffet. We can also arrange a DJ if required. As well as our bars and restaurant, we have seating at the front of the house and also have a large peaceful beer garden at the rear of the building. The house at Chartwell, home to the late Sir Winston Churchill, stands in 82 acres, including a garden of approximately 30 acres, park-like pasture and woodland and lakes. It has spectacular views over the Weald of Kent towards the Ashdown Forest and the South Downs.
The fully licensed Mulberry Room provides a perfect setting for a function, party or conference. Accommodating up to 100 for lunch or dinner, delicious seasonal menus with locally sourced ingredients are available. Theatre style, the room can seat 120 with private bar, audio visual and PA sound system and overhead projector, screen and flip chart are available for hire.
The smaller Lady Soames Room provides a perfect setting for an evening party with music and dancing, and guests are welcome to use the Restaurant Terrace.
This beautiful 17th century manor house is available for wedding receptions, private and business entertaining and conferences, with large outside events including marquee receptions and game clays held in the gardens and grounds. Professional kitchens are available to outside caterers, by arrangement, and rooms seating up to 70 are licensed. Breakfasts for early morning meetings may be booked in advance; dinner and lunch may include a tour of the house.
